Divine Mercy

Devotion to Divine Mercy

The Divine Mercy devotion flows from the revelations entrusted by Christ to St. Faustina Kowalska in the early twentieth century. In her Diary, she records the Lord’s call to trust in His mercy, to receive it deeply, and to extend it generously to others. The Church has affirmed this message as a powerful reminder of the Gospel itself: that the Heart of Jesus is rich in mercy for a wounded world.

At St. James the Apostle, our Divine Mercy Cenacle exists to enter more fully into that call.

We gather to study St. Faustina’s Diary in light of Sacred Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Each meeting includes prayer for special intentions and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Our focus is not only devotion, but conversion of life. We seek to grow in trust in Christ, deepen our love for His Real Presence in the Eucharist, and put mercy into action through concrete works of charity and compassion.

The cenacle is a place of faithful study, sincere prayer, and spiritual encouragement. Together, we ask the Lord to form our hearts after His own, so that His mercy may be known in our parish, our families, and our community.

Before this image, we place our needs and the needs of the world into the merciful Heart of Christ, confident that His grace is greater than every sin and sorrow.

The Divine Mercy Sunday falls on the Sunday after Easter every year.
