St. Vincent de Paul

Mission: To serve our neighbors with love and respect—delivering help, hope, and pathways to self-sufficiency.

Who We Are

Helpline: (678) 892-6163

We at St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. James the Apostle are neighbors helping neighbors.

Rooted in faith and dignity, our local Vincentian volunteers offer personal, compassionate support to individuals and families facing difficult moments. When a neighbor is struggling with housing, food, utilities, or other urgent needs, we respond not only with practical help but with presence, respect, and hope.

We are part of the statewide network of St. Vincent de Paul Georgia, yet our work happens right here in our own community. We live here. We worship here. We serve here. That means when someone reaches out, they are met by someone who understands the local challenges and cares deeply about the people of Henry County.

What We Do

We listen first.

Through confidential conversations, we take time to understand each neighbor’s unique situation. Together, we explore the best path forward. Support may include help with rent or mortgage concerns, utility bills, prescription needs, and connection to local resources such as food support, assistance for single mothers, and other community services.

Every situation is different. Our goal is not simply to solve a short-term problem, but to walk alongside our neighbors in need with compassion and encouragement.

How to Ask for Help

If you or someone you know is experiencing a financial or personal hardship, we invite you to contact our helpline: (678) 892-6163

Once a month, Vincentian volunteers meet with our Henry County neighbors to discern the best path forward. Our counselors meet with each person to discuss their needs and how SVdP can help.

Inspired by love, we help all people. Every neighbor deserves to be seen, heard, and supported.

How To Get Involved

If you are seeking a way to grow closer to God through meaningful friendships and love of neighbor, the St. Vincent de Paul Society may be for you. Our volunteers come from many different backgrounds and skill sets, but all share a common mission: to serve Christ by serving our neighbors in need with compassion, dignity, and hope.

There are many ways to get involved, whether you can offer a few hours a month or serve more regularly. Every role helps us provide personal, compassionate support to those in need throughout our community.
