Part-Time Coordinator of Elementary & Middle School Faith Formation
St. James the Apostle Catholic Church is seeking a passionate and organized Catholic leader to serve as our part-time
Coordinator of Elementary & Middle School Faith Formation. This position plays a vital role in forming young disciples and supporting families as they grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and the Church.
Overview: This position oversees faith formation programs for children in K-8th Grade, including Elementary Religious Education, Middle School Ministry (Edge), and preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Working closely with the Director of Faith Formation & Youth Ministry, clergy, catechists, parents, and volunteers, the coordinator helps create a welcoming and spiritually enriching environment for children and families.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate weekly faith formation sessions
- Support and train catechists
- Oversee sacramental preparation
- Manage registrations and attendance
- Communicate with families
- Assist with VBS, retreats, and seasonal events
Qualifications:
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
- Strong knowledge of the Catholic faith and sacramental theology
- Experience working with children, families, or volunteers
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Degree in theology, catechetics, education, or related field preferred
